Marisa Lincoln is a licensed California attorney with more than two decades of legal experience and a career-long focus on serving public entities. Since 2004, she has built a reputation as a trusted advisor and investigator, known for navigating complex matters with thoroughness, discretion, and care.
For 18 years, Marisa practiced labor and employment law and conducted investigations for K–12 school districts, community colleges, county offices of education, and charter schools. This extensive background gives her a deep, well-rounded understanding of employer and employee rights, student-related issues, and the sensitivities required when investigating matters involving students, employees, administrators, and board members. Her investigative experience also includes work for municipalities, as well as private employers.
Before founding Lincoln White Investigations, LLP, Marisa was a partner at a large education law firm, where she focused on labor and employment law and co-chaired the firm’s Investigations Practice Group. In that role, she regularly advised clients on Title IX compliance, helped develop and refine complaint and investigation policies, and led investigation-related trainings for administrators and leadership teams.
Education & Certifications
Marisa is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) and obtained her AWI-CH in 2023 at AWI’s Santa Barbara Training Institute. She is also certified as a Civil Rights Investigator (Levels I and III) through ATIXA.
She received her Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento.
